500 Words Writing Competition
Throughout June the community Hub has held the 500 word writing competition for children and adult adults with an our community. This is the first time we have run this and we’re pleased with the entry level.
There were three categories of entry for children, Key stage one, key stage two and key stage three and one adult category.
The judges met and read all the stories on Friday, the 4th of July.
They felt the overall standard entry was very good and Heather Beeken, Library Manager and Sue Simmons, Trustee attended Southview assembly where vouchers and certificates were presented to 2 of our worthy winners. Other winners received their awards at the Hub on Saturday, the 5th of July.
The competition will run again next year and hope that again we receive lots of entries in each group.
